Donnald is also part of the NTN Brothers band mentioned above. He, along with his cousin Alsen, came to the Port Vila Good News Meeting in July. After their second study, Alsen informed me that his cousin, Donnald, wanted to begin studying the Bible too. So, Donnald and I began studying the Bible every Monday and Thursday morning. After a few weeks of Monday/Thursday meetings, Donnald got a new "8:00-5:00" job, which meant he could no longer study in the morning. He elected to begin studying on Sunday afternoons after church, which is his only day off. It just so happened that the day Alsen was baptized was the day we were scheduled to study Bible baptism later that afternoon.

As soon as Donnald heard the Bible's clear, simple teaching on baptism, he could not be kept out of the water. I tried to "talk him out of his decision," just to make sure he really was ready to make a like-commitment, but Donnald quickly retorted, "I asked you teach me the Bible because I want to know what it says so that I can obey it. You have done that and now I am ready to obey."

As we were concluding our study, Donnald thanked me for the study as he had done so many times in the past. "I have been praying that someone would come and teach me the Bible. I have been a member of so many churches because I was trying to find the one, true church...and now I have finally found it." What a joyful exclamation!
