Ruth is a very precious soul. Ruth lives in Etas in the same area as Sam and Leimawa (Christians in Etas village) and comes to worship nearly every week. Ruth had seen the church being planted in Etas with the first four people (Sam, Leimawa, Pbles and Ruth) being baptized into Christ. Since the beginning of the church in Etas, Ruth has been there.

One problem we encountered with Ruth was that she has several learning disabilities. She is 22 years old, but can neither read nor write. Cindy developed her own picture lessons to teach Ruth lessons on Jesus, sin, salvation, and the church at a simple level that could be understood. Basically, Ruth knew she needed to be baptized to be saved because she saw so many other people doing this, but she didn’t know why she needed to be baptized. For over 5 months, Cindy studied with Ruth using these picture lessons to teach the truth to Ruth.

Ruth has such a kind heart and deep desire to do what is right. At the completion of studying with Cindy, Ruth was asking to be baptized. Despite her learning disabilities and lack of education, Ruth wanted to follow Jesus and be a part of His church. Ruth is a very committed person even in her young age and we can count on Ruth to show up to every church program. With such a sweet disposition and eager heart, we are glad we can introduce you to Ruth as we welcome her into the body of Christ in Etas village.
