Tuesday 8-1-06 – Well, I have allowed half a month to pass by without journaling once. I guess there has been too much going on here and I have not been able to keep up with it. Here is the re-cap and I will try to keep from rambling.

As, I said before – in the middle of last month I had a miscarriage. Not a fun experience but I am feeling so much better. My doctor put me on bed rest for a week after it happened. And I have never been so happy to get up and get moving with life as I was at the end of that week! I am not very patient about sitting in bed and being “sick” – I much prefer to be up and doing things and getting on with life!

During that time the men were still here from New Zealand working on the building project. They were all a great help and encouragement to me. Although, I owe hours and hours of work and favors to Aaron and Shawnda for doing the housework and keeping Kaela occupied while I was stuck in bed.

On July 25, a campaign group from the US came over with Wayne Burger. The next day Antony (from New Zealand) flew back home and the majority of the building project was behind us! Lots of thanks to that group of men from NZ --- Trevor, John, Allan and especially Antony!

For the campaign group (that are still here until the 8th) we have Wayne Burger (GREAT to have him here!), Tom Bailey (from Altus, OK and teaching Pacific Islands Bible College courses with Wayne) and a group of 7 young people all about 18-21 yrs old. They are the FUNNEST group! We are having a blast with them here. The girls are willing and ready to help Shawnda and I with whatever we need and every one of them (girls and guys) have the best attitudes about being in Vanuatu. They work hard and are willing to try anything new and really “live” the Vanuatu life! It will be hard to put them on the plane back home next week because we have so enjoyed having them here. I know people worry about me being so busy that I’m not dealing with this miscarriage. But, honestly, moving on is what is healing for me. Having all these great people here is healing for me, it really is. Because I am doing more than just the “everyday” stuff – I am being encouraged everyday and laughing a lot and spending time with some truly great people including Wayne who is just a like a father to me. Things have been busy here – crazy busy as I always like to say – but I couldn’t have asked for anything better than this last week!
