Our team's greatest desire is to effectively edify and equip the local Christians of Vanuatu so that when we leave the mission field, the congregations of the Lord's church will continue to thrive. We have taken a lead from the apostle Paul and other successful ministries, and established the Truth Bible School in the capital city of Port Vila.

Term 1 began in February 2008, and saw 15 students complete the 6-week courses. We meet on Tuesday and Thursday evenings from 6-8:30, with one instructor teaching from 6-7 and the other from 7:30-8:30. The students seem to be grasping the concepts very well, and show great excitement regarding their spiritual growth.

The mission team provides transportation for all full-time students, which costs approximately $85 per week. This arrangement insures that all students are able to come, and will show up for class on time. We have students attending from Port Vila, Etas Village and Epau Village. Other school-related materials cost about $15 per term. We also provide handouts for each class period, and a folder for each course.

In February 2009, we began conducting TBS classes in Epau Village, at the request of the brethren there. The first term had 12 students, including 3 from Eton Village.

We have planned a two-year curriculum for the school in Vila, with 4 Terms per year (2 classes per Term), for a total of 16 courses:

How to Study the Bible

Holy Spirit & Miracles

Scheme of Redemption

Christian Family

Old & New Covenants

Leadership

The Church

Lesson Prep & Presentation

New Testament Survey

Personal Evangelism

Old Testament Survey

Denominational Doctrines

Moral & Cultural Issues

The Life of Christ

Revelation

On February 28, 2010, we celebrated our first graduate from the Trutok Baebol Skul in Port Vila - Patrick Kasso. Patrick was the only student who took all 16 courses, and did so making all "A"s and without missing a single class. He has a family, works a full-time (labor intensive) job, and lives almost an hour's drive outside of town, but his dilligence resulted in what we hope will be a life long commitment to studying, applying and teaching God's word. Congratulations Patrick!
